The Kansas City Chiefs released a comment on Wednesday evening confirming they have knowledge of domestic violence allegations made public in online accounts by a former girlfriend of player Rashee Rice and had been in contact with the league office.
The organization omitted the name of Rice by name in their statement and noted they would have “no further comment at this time”.

Dacoda Nichole Jones, who also did not mention the athlete by name, posted a set of images on Instagram that seemed to depict signs of physical abuse. She did say the person involved was the father of her children, and reports indicate she has kids with the football player, whom the Chiefs selected in the 2023 draft.
No official complaints were on file in Overland Park, Kansas where the alleged abuse is said to have occurred.
Rice missed the first six games of this NFL campaign due to an league-mandated ban for his involvement in causing a multi-vehicle accident on a Texas roadway that resulted in multiple people hurt. Rice was sentenced a month of incarceration and probationary supervision after entering a guilty plea to felony charges.
Statistically, Rice concluded the season with 53 catches for 571 receiving yards and five touchdowns as the Chiefs finished with a losing record and missed the playoffs for the first time in a ten-year span.
